I love to talk to people. Little else leaves me fulfilled the way sitting up late with friends discussing the weightier matters of life does. Of course, my two favorite subjects are religion and Japan. I could sit content for hours discussing these things. I never get tired of discussing how different Bible verses are connected, or the deeper meaning I might have missed when first reading a verse, or even just how we ought to live out our lives trying to follow the Bible. The same goes for Japan, I love discussing Japanese history, religion, culture, or food with anyone who will indulge me.
All that to say, today I’m trying to do the thing I’ve always been very awkward at, asking for funding.
I’ve been travelling a lot, and the point to all of that travelling has been to raise funds for my trip. While I’ve made great progress through my travelling, I am still in need of funding. So, today, I want to set a goal, and ask for help meeting that goal. I call it 30 by 30.
I call it 30 by 30 because if I were able to get 30 people to donate $30 a month to my trip, I would have what I need to be able to go. While it wouldn’t be all of my budget, it would be the bare minimum I need to live off of in Japan. So, I’m asking for your help. I ask that you would consider being one of my 30. For $30 a month, we’d be taking the gospel to Japan together. As I’ve said from the beginning, I was this to be a joint effort, I want you to see where your money is going and continue to update you through this blog and on YouTube.
If you cannot, I understand. But I would still like to ask for your help. If you cannot support me, please share this post with your friends. If you know someone who is interested in Asian mission work or supporting missionaries, I ask that you’ll share this with them.
Thank you for all the support you’ve already given me. I am still planning on leaving in early September. Everyone I talk to keeps telling me that the time will fly by. I believe it. I don’t know where June went!
Please continue to pray for me. God has blessed me greatly by being able to get the support I’ve gotten so far. That’s why I do what I do. “To those who have been given much, much will be expected.”
